What is a forward deployed engineer?
An engineer who works directly in the customer's environment, close to users and systems, and builds and deploys what is needed for the problem to be solved. The role became well known through data and AI companies that embed engineers at their customers.
How is this different from hiring a developer on retainer?
A retainer developer takes direction and builds to a spec. A forward deployed engineer also investigates the problem, decides what to build, and owns the result in production. Many clients start with one and move to the other.
Do you work on site?
Mostly remote, embedded in your daily rhythm and overlapping with your working hours. On-site visits can be arranged for key phases of a project.

How is it priced?
